Summerville

When we arrived at Summerville the tavern was open. We ordered drinks and sat at an empty table.

The local law was curious about us being in her quiet village. We told her we were supposed to meet an employer there. She wanted to know more so I read her the verbiage of the note. Soon a large Red Dragon showed up and told us he was the one who sent the note. From his tone you would think the "one" should be capitalized as "One."

He said he was wanting to mate with the Green Dragon and our job was to find three gifts suitable (and he gave us a laundry list to go by,) and the love letter he prepared for us. If we did this job we would save Summerville and four villages, too, along with our coin. Another words the Red Dragon was holding the villages hostage for our cooperation. This didn't sit well with me, but in the dragon's eyes, that is the right way to go about things.

To him we are a lesser race and therefore expendable or even food. We agreed to the terms. We had no desire to end up dead or worse! A few of our companions were harder to convince.

The Red Dragon left and we started to talk tactics with the locals who were more familiar with the lay of the land. With the local knowledge and the fear of our lives, we -- were interrupted by some bandits. We killed all but two. One ran and the other we waylaid. Since this was my first adventure, many things were new to me. Father's training of Imp apparently came in handy to torture the bandit into telling us some things. Actually, it was probably more Runt doing unmentionable things to him and then threatening to do worse that got us the information.

That bandit also had a note from his employer, coin, gems and of all things, a turd. We gave that to Runt right away. No need in that smelling up our pouches.

Well, we got all the gifts and took them to the Green Dragon. She was, indeed, impressed with the Red Dragon and gave us a message to take back to him.

We trekked back to Summerville to await the Red Dragon's return. We told him of our adventures and he was, shall I say, lifted in his spirit. (You see when we first met him we snickered about his drooping horns. When we told him the news, his horns were a bit more perky.) He gave each of us a dragon's scale. He mentioned that it had a magical property. Something about knowing where we are or something.

Well, all is done, Summerville is safe and so are we. We got a good night's rest and headed back to Drakesbridge in the morning. We made new friends and learned a great deal. Summerville seems like a nice place to take a vacation, now.

A Note on my Pillow

I found this note on my pillow:
Obi the Healer, newly returned to life - Late of Gloomwoode,

You are hereby cordially invited to my demesne and afforded an opportunity for employment. Coin, treasure, and the adulation of many (as well as the opportunity to gain favor of a powerful benefactor) await you in the river town of Summerville. Travel by foot will take about 2 weeks from your current local. Follow the river Sah North and you will find the settlement. Procure lodging in the Tavern and I will meet you on the 26th of this month. Some others of your acquaintance will also receive this invitation so travel as a group may be advisable.

T
I went to Imp's bunk and found that she, too, had the invitation. We
gathered supplies and headed to Summerville. We met up with a Sarr, another Mystic, and a rogue. And of course, Runt.

As I Awake

I awake in the middle of a field. Others around me are confused and most are dressed in rusting armor and tattered clothes in the colors of black and purple. Some of the others, the ones who aren't confused, are bearing weapons. I do not know where I am. I look around and see my sister get up and look around. Without calling attention to myself I rise and wander over to her.

"Imp, where are we?"

"I don't know" she said. "The last I remember we were running for the rift."

"Me to."

Then I heard a voice rise above the confusion. It was reassuring us that all was now as it should be. But it wasn't. I wanted to be back with my Mom. Why did I even think I could talk sense into that Imp?

The people of this land welcomed us, most with open arms. I met Nerrik, the City's Administrator, and Jomar the Captain of the Guard. I learned that the City's name is Drakesbridge and that I was a Death Knight. The year is 608! I have lost 162 years! The year was 446 when last I was awake. I was born in 393. I was young for a Mystic Wood Elf. I had not yet gone to prove myself. Now am I 53, the years I remember? Or am I 215? I am so confused.

I went into the Tavern in my hometown of Gloomwoode to talk to my sister, Imp. She was about to join the Death Knights. She is 14 years younger than I am, what does she think she's doing? Is this the way to prove her adulthood? I sat down and told her not to go. She didn't even know who I was. The next thing I knew, we were in the forest in front of the Change Council. Nothing was right. It was Chaos. We ran for the rift we spotted.

Now we are in another time.
